11. Looper
This movie is so under-watched and under-appreciated. I’ve been interested in it since the first time I heard about it over a year ago. Joseph Gordon-Levitt reuniting with the writer/director Rian Johnson. While it’s not the same kind of movie as Brick, I think Looper is just as enjoyable. A sci-fi movie that could’ve easily been just another popcorn movie, Looper rose above and beyond my expectations and ended up being a much more human story than an average sci-fi action thriller. While it does have both decent shootouts and cool sci-fi gimmicks, its the characters, mainly Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s young Joe that makes the movie so great. (Bruce Willis is good too, but he’s still just Bruce Willis.)
If you haven’t seen Looper yet, dude, why not?
